Energy from Opposition and the Self-Sustaining Mechanism

Abstract

We derive the energy dynamics of the Universal Solution framework, demonstrating that energy is not a separate substance but the tension between Coherence (C) and Fluctuation (F). The fundamental energy density E = k x C x F is derived from the C + F = 1 constraint, satisfying positivity, symmetry, boundary conditions, and interaction requirements. Energy is maximized at C = F = 0.5 (E max = k/4) and vanishes at both extremes. The dynamics obey a Hamiltonian oscillator equation with perpetual, undamped oscillation centered at C = 0.5. We prove the Autonomy Theorem: the Universal Engine requires no external energy input because the opposition between C and F is definitional, not contingent. The total energy of the universe is zero-coherence energy (positive, organizing) exactly balances fluctuation energy (negative, dispersing). This resolves the cosmological "first cause" problem. The engine manifests at all scales: quantum (vacuum fluctuations), classical (gravitational curvature), cosmological (dark energy), and biological (metabolism). The universe runs because not-running is mathematically impossible under C + F = 1.
