Vortex of Temporal Equity: Unraveling Chrono-Predation and Analyzing Pathways to Societal Balance
Abstract
The Vortex of Temporal Equity (VTE) framework proposes that historical narratives and their interpretations can create spiraling dynamics that concentrate power and resources, often obfuscating or suppressing alternative claims and legacies. This paper introduces VTE's core conceptual elements-chrono-predation, equity suppression, and restorative pivots-and explores their potential application in analyzing complex societal issues. We examine ongoing debates surrounding Waqf property administration and historical claims in India, and the intricate narratives involved in the extradition process of Tahawwur Rana, as illustrative contexts where VTE dynamics may be operative. These explorations aim to demonstrate the VTE framework's utility in dissecting the mechanisms of temporal inequity and identifying potential interventions for greater balance and clarity.
