NeuroLumen Therapy: A Sensory-First, Humanistic Framework for Neurodivergent Cognition
Abstract
NeuroLumen Therapy is a sensory-first, humanistic framework designed to support neurodivergent cognition through ethical sensory modulation, neuroaffective attunement, and narrative integration. Developed by Gracio Marinho Sobral, this thesis reframes ADHD as Adaptive Dynamics of Human Diversity and autism as the Authentic Spectrum of Diversity, challenging deficit-based terminology and promoting diagnostic dignity. Grounded in affective neuroscience, sensory processing research, and first-person accounts, NeuroLumen positions the environment as the first therapeutic agent and perception as the foundation of behavioral change. The model offers a layered clinical structure and a roadmap for empirical validation, contributing to inclusive practice, early diagnosis, and neuroaffirmative therapeutic paradigms.
